Writer and producer Ahmed Al Abyari is rolling out his first TV work, a series on the life of the late comedy star Ismael Yasin. The late artist’s son Yasin Ismael will direct the series.

“The managing director of the Media Production City, Abdel Rahman Hafez, welcomed the idea of presenting the life history of the late artist Ismael Yasin in 30 episodes on the silver screen. Many, in fact, know that Ismael Yasin and my father, writer Abu Al Saud Al Abyari, formed a duo that never separated,” Abyari told the daily Al Messa.

“Yasin Ismael Yasin provided me with all the necessary information, but the only problem we face at the moment is finding an actor who looks like the late artist...because the audience's acceptance of such a character is a big factor in the success of any comedy work,” added Abyari.

Meanwhile, Abyari is gearing up for a cinema project of his own, describing it as "a surprise [that] will bring together new comedy stars and the older generation."

The new work will be, according to Abyari, his first with the older comedy stars.

Abyari is also gearing up, along with his writer and producer brother Yusri, for the play Al Zawj Awwal Man Yakhlaa (The Husband's the First to Separate), written, produced and directed by Yusri in his first experience in this line of work - Albawaba.com
