The worst part about being famous? When you mess up, everyone's watching!
Iraqi superstar Kazem el Saher has made some mistakes in his lifetime, but his biggest one, he says, was spending huge amounts of time away from his family.
The 59-year-old singer told Sayidaty magazine that "My biggest mistake was being away from my family. I travelled and toured a lot until I became famous."
A regretful Kazem continued, "At the time, radio stations weren't allowed to air any songs by Iraqi singers. I was in such a dilemma: I wanted my voice to reach the world but at the same time all I wanted to do was to spend time with my mum and family."
For someone as successful as Kazem, his idol is closer to home than you may know.
"My brother, Dr. Hussain, is my idol. He insisted on getting his Bachelor's degree and PhD despite the destruction in Iraq. He got his Bachelor's degree aged 60," he said proudly.
Hussain is seven years older than Kazem; he's 67-years-old.
"Hussain got his PhD in History this year and I hope that he becomes a university professor. He's my idol because of his persistence and patience, also, he's like an encyclopedia."
