ALBAWABA- The popular Korean show "King The Land'' sparked controversy the moment a culturally insensitive Arab man appeared on screens.
The portrayal angered fans all over the world leading the show's ratings to decline; it had previously received an IMDB rating of roughly 8/10 and currently sits at 2/10.

What made Prince Samir controversial?
The controversial scene had the Arab prince Samir drinking alcohol in a bar with ladies surrounding him. This was considered disrespectful to Arab fans calling it racist and stereotypical.

Several YouTube comments criticized the actor and director for portraying the Arab prince in a dubious manner, labeling him as prejudiced towards Arabs and not at all funny at all.


King The Land's team apologized
According to AKP, In response to the controversy, King The Land's production team issued a formal apology where they stated that the show's characters and settings are fictional and had no intention of offending the particular race depicted in it.
However, fans did not approve of the apology, Netizens commented, "This is not an apology," "The level of their apology...is just..." "I'm not going to watch this drama anymore," "They need to apologize better," "They didn't even say sorry," "Wow, they haven't apologized even with their second statement. I'm not going to watch this drama anymore," "fictitious? that's ridiculous," "They should have just said they were ignorant and should have just apologized," "Is it hard to say sorry?" and "Where is the apology?".
