Lebanese singers taking over Egyptian cinema

For the excess demand of watching the young and hot Arabic and especially Lebanese female singers; who are chosen mainly for their sexy moves and sexy clothes to be leading stars in Egyptian films, film producers are signing contracts with famous Lebanese female celebrities to sell off their films.

The shift in selection is also due to the fact that many Egyptian actresses like Hanan Al Turk began wearing the Hijab on and took a year off from work.

Another reason is that actresses like Muna Zaki, Hala Shiha and Yasmeen Abed El Aziz, are overly paid.

According to the London based Elaph, this current period is being considered as the era of the Lebanese singer/movie stars.

Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi is one of the first to sign a contract with Al Sabki Production Company after refusing many offers mainly to be part of the movie “Laylat El Baby Doll” (Night of the Baby Doll.) This film is produced by Good News Production Company.

Haifa will be receiving a wage of five million Egyptian pounds for signing her new contract with Al Sabki. Egyptian singerTamer Hosni will be her co-star in the new film.

It is said that Rula Sa’ed was asked by Al Sabki to be in the film before Haifa, yet she refused because she is preparing to work on the making of another film, which she will be acting the role of Lebanese diva Sabah, who is also known as ‘El Shahrorah Sabah.’

Rula is also working on a second film titled “72 hours.” She will be acting along side Egyptian actors Fathi Abed El Wahab, Tamer Hajras, and Dunia Samer Ghanem.

On the other hand Nicole Saba is preparing to start on two Egyptian movies at once they are “Private Operation,” which is an action movie starting Khaled Saleem and Ameer Kararh, and the second “Raq Al Habib” with Muhammad Monir. It is known that Nicole Saba previously acted along side Adel Imam. She started also in many other films which raised her salary to be 150 thousand dollars per film.

The same goes for Dolly Shaheen, where she will be starting in many productions. Dolly will be starting along side well known Egyptian actress Laila Elwi in “Tango Mango.”  Razan Maghribi is another Lebanese young face who also started in the “Italian War” with Ahmad Al Sakka.

Many other Lebanese female celebrities and singers will be walking this new path. Such famous faces as Nancy Ajram, Miriam Faris, Dana, Elissa and many others are also seeking to be leading stars in their own films.
