ALBAWABA - Following the notorious ban of TikTok in the US, the popular card game Marvel Snap has been officially Thanos snapped by its developers Nuverse from the App Store amid concerns over a possible ban in the country, due to links to ByteDance.

TikTok and Marvel Snap aren't the only applications banned in the US as of Jan. 19, 2025. Other applications including Lemon8, CapCut, and Gauth all suffered the same fate because of their parent company ByteDance which also owns both the popular card game and TikTok.

A content creator named RegisKillbin took to Musk's X (formerly known as Twitter) and wrote, "Oh hey, Marvel Snap, the game I play for a job, just got banned in the United States because of its corporate connection to TikTok. No idea when it'll be back. Cool. Cool Cool Cool."

Another X user added, "Ok I am NOT tripping I got the message again! Marvel Snap is BANNED IN THE USA."

Not only Killbin, but several other users based in the US have showcased concern over ByteDance's apps being banned in the country since they depend on it for revenue and profit through content creation, advertising, and selling items.

"A law banning Marvel Snap has been enacted in the US. Unfortunately, that means you can't use amrvel snap for now. Rest assured, we're working to restore our service in the US. Please stay tuned!"
