A big press conference was held in Crystal night club in Beirut in celebration of the first release for prominent Lebanese singer Nicole Saba entitled “Ya Shaghilni”. The conference was one of the biggest of the season and many hot and embarrassing questions were targeted towards Nicole and her producer Muhsen Jaber, owner of Alam El Phan Production Company.
The positive surprise to all who attended the conference was the smile and tolerance of Nicole who answered all the question with the same simile. This attitude reflected the good nature of Nicole who knew exactly how to deal with the press and managed to give good answers to all the questions even the hard ones.
Among the people who attended the conference were director Nadine Labki, poet Tone Abu Karam, Nicole's mother and her sister Nadine and many of her friends. Nicole appeared wearing a stunning black dress by Lebanese designer Nicola Gebran, and opened the conference by welcoming all the people and had Muhsen Jaber give the opening speech.
Muhsen started by saying that Nicole is a great singer and as producer he preferred to back her than to go to a super star album release. About rumors of bankruptcy, Muhsen denied saying that the fastest rumors in the Arab world start from Lebanon, adding that competition between production companies used to be in who presents a better work but now it’s a war of rumors. About his dispute with Ragheb Alamah, Muhsen explained that Ragheb is a close friend of his but they only disagree in some projects and that’s natural.
Nicole was asked about what makes her special in the middle of a fierce competition between singers these days and said that she started to sing long ago with the Lebanese band the Four Cats and then started to go solo two years ago and then she met with Muhsen who presented her to fans. She added that media and fans are the ones to decide what makes her special than other singers and not her.
Muhsen was asked about the reason he showed up beside Nicole and not with other superstars from his company, and so added that superstars are experienced to handle the media and he wanted them to enjoy their moments and not distract the media by his presence, but in Nicole's case he was there to support her in her first musical album.
Nicole answered a question about whether she is a performer or a singer by saying she sings the songs that fit her voice and does not plan to sing heavy classical music because that’s not her style and doesn’t fit her voice. She said that her goal is making listeners enjoy her work without disturbing them.
About her looks Nicole admitted that her natural beauty and her blonde hair helped her a lot and gave her lots of opportunities but she added that there are lots of blondes in the scenes but not one of them achieved what she was able to achieve and that’s because she is gifted in addition to her looks.
Nicole said that she feels more responsible now than she used to feel while singing with the Four Cats because people will judge her now and not the whole group. Nicole ended the conference by thanking all journalists for coming to her celebration and promised to continue working hard to offer her fans a high class of music and creativity. –Albawaba.com
