Syrian actress Nadin is gearing up to shoot her role in the fifth part of the series Hammam al Qishani (al Qishani Public Bathhouse) directed by Hani al Rumani.
The series records modern Syrian history, especially the period of the 1950s and the 1960s which witnessed many political and social changes in the country. The series concentrate on the reaction of people towards these changes and the formation of the political parties in the country and their role in socio-political life in the country.
“The series is the most important one in the history of Syrian TV drama, because it records the modern history of Syria through social, economic and political perspectives,” Nadin told the daily Syria Times.
Nadin is one of the most prominent Syrian actresses who has proved her capability to play different complicated roles. She started her career at the beginning of the 80s in a series etitled The Quarter of Fisherman in which she played the role of an innocent girl who makes her living from buying fish. She falls in love with a young man and helps him to surmount the difficulties confronting their marriage.
Nadin has also played many comic roles, including Yawmiyyat Mudir Aam (A Director General’s Diary), Batal Min Hatha al Zaman (A Hero of This Time) and Maraya (Mirrors).
In Yawmiyyat Mudir Aam, Nadin plays the wife of a director general who dreams of richness, but her husband refuses to follow illegal ways to become rich, while in Batal Min Hatha al Zaman, she plays the role of a wife of a poor man and she tries to help him in confronting the difficulties of life.
In Cinema, Nadin participated in a number of feature films at the beginning of her career, but she stopped “in search for good texts,” she said.
She is currently filming a series directed by Haitham Haqqi entitled Radm al Asatir (Rabbles of Legends). She plays the role of widow who lives with her only daughter.
