Being away from the spotlight for a long time and ever since she got married to her husband journalist Hamdi Qandil, Egyptian famous romantic actress Najla Fathi couldn’t turn her sister Muna Fathi’s invitation to attend her nephew’s wedding. Her nephew Mahmoud Muhammad Sukari who is a businessman was married to May, who is a college student at the American University in Cairo and the daughter of the Counselor Hamdi Abed El Majeed.
According to the London daily Elaph, ever since she been away, Najla created a high fence around her personal life. Surprisingly she showed up at the wedding standing by her husband welcoming the guests. Everyone was pleased to meet her and see her there. Many well-known guests were present at the wedding like: the Minister of aviation, political personals and actor Sharif Munir and his daughter.
Najla made clear that she never wore the hijab “Muslim women head cover”, which rumors had claimed she did. She added that she still intends on returning to the acting world despite her prolonged absence.
Najla stressed the importance of acting and the role that actors play in everyday life. Actors persuade what is going on in the world whether it’s done in a comedy or a serious matter.
