A Beirut court has ruled in favor of the Lebanese superstar Najwa Karam, who filed a case against the journalist Nidal Al Ahmadyeh for slandering her. The court could have scentenced Nidal to prison, but only fined the famous journalist 10 million Lebanese Liras, or about US$8,000.
Nidal has yet to pay the fine.
Najwa’ lawyer Gladis Karam has filed an appeal and Najwa will soon hold a press conference regarding the matter.
