The famous Egyptian artist Shireen Abed Al Wahab denied rumors that she has been infected with the H1N1 virus.
On the entertainment show “Al Beit Beitak” (This House Is You Home) with the famous Egyptian broadcaster Mahmoud Saed, Shireen called in to publically announce that she is not infected with the H1N1 virus.
Shireen said that she was only suffering from a common cold that she caught during her stay in Abu Dhabi. Shireen is in her first trimester of her pregnancy, so she was admitted to a hospital in the UAE for two days.
Representatives from the Egyptian embassy in the UAE said that Shireen is doing well and that she is not affected with the H1N1 virus.
Shireen was in the UAE to host a celebration for the United Arab Emirates National Union Day. During her performance she raised the Emirati flag and asked the audience for permission to also raise the Egyptian flag.
