Contrary to what was initially reported by FOX Turkey that Sen Çal Kapimi (You Knock On My Door / Love Is In The Air) would be renewed for thirteen more episodes, finally the network has decided that the second season will only have eleven. Thus, the series starring Hande Erçel and Kerem Bürsin will end on August 18.
The person in charge of announcing this 'cancellation' has been the leading actress herself, as per EL ESPAÑOL recent article, who has posted a message on social media to her thousands of fans that the show will end after its second season.
Despite of the many rumors of cancellation after the significant drop in viewership, last April FOX Turkey has announced to renew the series with a second season of thirteen new episodes, it also decided to stop its broadcast and resume in June.
'We will be holding the season finale planned before the festival at episode 39 for health reasons. #SenÇalKapımı will continue where it left off in June with new episodes. Stay on track. Best regards!' - MF YAPIM Media Production Company.
The reason of ending season one was that the crew had been working tirelessly since May 2020, and pre-production had begun even earlier in April 2020 in the midst of a pandemic.
In this way, producers will be able to give a fair ending to the love story of Eda and Serkan, as producer Asena Bulbüllosglu said a few weeks ago.
What is the second season about
In the new season, according to the trailer published by FOX, there will be a big time jump, suggesting that the story will return five years after the last scene when season 1 concluded.
"What is she doing here after all these years? Why is my heart beating again?" Asks Serkan in the trailer, while Eda appears with him at a press conference with an award in hand. Also, the voice of a girl asking " Mom, is this man my dad? " Has sparked all kinds of rumors among fans of the Turkish series.
