ALBAWABA - English star Ed Sheeran recently went viral after his street performance in Bangalore, India was halted by local police due to allegedly breaking the city's laws of not taking permission prior to performing.
The British star took to Church Street, on Sunday morning when his guitar was suddenly unplugged by a local police officer who didn't know who he was for not adhering to the city's rules. While Ed Sheeran took everyone by surprise, the police officer wasn't so keen on the situation and appeared furious while a local citizen tried to de-escalate the issue at hand. The clip in question quickly swarmed social media platforms sparking debate and speculations from several internet users.
A user on Musk's X (formerly known as Twitter) wrote, "Whoever planned this should have taken permission from local authority!" Another added, "Went for a casual walk on Church Street and stumbled upon Ed Sheeran performing live. What a city!"
While several social media users complimented the police officer for doing his job, many others criticized him for being slightly aggressive towards the famous British singer.
Sheeran was performing his hit song "Shape of You" as the crowd that started forming upon noticing sang along but the song was cut short.
