Head of the Egyptian Musician Union, Muneer Al Wasmi, has released an official decision to ban prominent Syrian singer Asalah Nasri from singing in Egypt after she verbally attacked Egyptian composer Hilmi Bakr and singer Shireen Abd Al Wahab on different television programs.

According to the London based Elaph, Muneer stated that two warnings had been sent to Asalah to investigate in the lawsuit filed against her by Hilmi and both were ignored. In addition, Asalah’s remarks on one of the television entertainment programs about hating Shireen were taken into account when making the decision to ban Asalah.

Muneer stressed that Asalah will not be allowed to participate in any of the concerts held on New Year’s Eve or any other performances held in Egypt.  In addition, Muneer said that all Egyptian singers in the Union are protected and defended.
