Sulaf as Mahmoud Darweesh’s lover

Prominent Syrian director Najdat Anzour has nominated prominent Syrian actress Sulaf Fawkharji for the role of the late Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darweesh’s lover in the new television drama “Fi Hadrat Al Gha’ib” (in the presence of the missing), which tackles the late poet’s life. The drama is written by Mohammad Bikri and prominent Syrian actor Firas Ibrahim will play the leading role of Mahmoud.

 

Filming of the scenes will begin in one of the suburbs of Syrian starting with Mahmoud’s early childhood days and Syrian actress Suzan Najm Al Din will play the role of his mother, actor Tayseer Idrees as his father and As’ad Fidah will play the role of his grandfather.

 

On a different, Sulaf stated that she has postponed signing the contract for her role in the new television drama “Wadi Al Mulouk” (Valley of Kings) until she completes reading the entire script despite the fact that she is fully convinced of the role and is confident the drama will witness significant success once it is aired during the Ramadan season of 2011.

 

The story of the drama is based on a novel by author Mohammad Al Mansi Qandeel, and the script was written by prominent poet Abd Al Rahman Al Abnkawdi. The drama will be directed by Husni Saleh and prominent Egyptian actress Sabrine and Summaya Al Khashab will costar alongside Sulaf.
