Burnley v Chelsea: Predicted lineups

Published August 18th, 2014 - 03:38 GMT

Burnley get welcomed back to the Premier League with a tough contest against Chelsea at Turf Moor on Monday afternoon.

The Clarets have brought in several fresh faces this summer having signed Michael Kightly, Matt Taylor and Steven Reid to name the more known additions, but they are set for a massive challenge from a Chelsea side that have strengthened this summer as well.

Jose Mourinho's additions of Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa, Didier Drogba, Mario Pasalic and Filipe Luis as well as the return of Thibaut Courtois gives the West London side an almost overwhelming chance of securing their first victory of the campaign away.

Petr Cech is still expected to be named the number one by Jose Mourinho, but there is chance for a major changing of the guard this season if Courtois has his way.

However, if will be a busy afternoon for both sides as the first fixture of the campaign is always one that delights and after seeing Leicester City make the most of an important match against Everton yesterday, Burnley will look to make something of their battle with the Blues.

Both sides have minimal injury issues with Burnley only without Sam Vokes and Chelsea's only bother the ankle of Drogba. Meanwhile Ramires is still serving a suspension from last season and will be in the stands for Chelsea.

Chelsea First Team: Cech: Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Luis; Fabregas, Matic, Oscar; Willian, Costa, Hazard.
