ALBAWABA - The Vodyanoye settlement in the Donetsk region of Ukraine has been successfully taken over, according to a recent announcement from the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The ministry revealed information about Russia's military measures between March 31 and April 5 in response to Ukrainian attempts to disrupt Russian oil, gas, and energy infrastructure on Russian land, amid rising tensions.
According to the statement, the Russian Armed Forces launched 39 group assaults using UAVs and precision weapons against Ukrainian military targets, industrial sites, air defense systems, fuel depots, and temporary camps housing Ukrainian and international personnel.
The statement focused on the penetration of Russian forces into Ukraine's defenses and their takeover of key locations in Donbas. It was specifically mentioned that the "Center" units were able to take over the Vodyanoye settlement, which is close to Avdiivka in Donetsk.
Russian forces downed five S-300 surface-to-air missile systems and three Su-25 fighter jets from the Ukrainian Air Force in Ukrainian airspace within a week. The statement also noted the downing of five JDAM and Hammer air-to-ground guided bombs, two Su-27 and one Mig-29 fighter jets, 91 rockets, and 1119 unmanned aerial vehicles from Ukrainian military weapons.
