Al Aan TV organized a gala dinner to celebrate the first anniversary of launching its talk show, Al Iraq Al Aan. The event took place at Lalezar Hotel in Sulaymaniyah located in Iraqi Kurdistan, and attended by a selection of governmental officials, politicians, representatives of Iraq's major companies along with media.

This gathering aims at building bridges between the channel and its viewers in Iraq and identifying their views and suggestions about the program in addition to cope and reverse the concerns of the Iraqi nation.

The gathering also targeted at introducing the various segments of “Iraq Al Aan” to the Iraqi society more closely and to opening a dialogue between the channel and officials in various institutions, as well as building strong relationships with major companies operating in Iraq.

Commenting on the Al Aan’s strategy and objectives in Iraq, Maya Kerbage, Corporate Communications Manager at the TV channel said “Our approach is always to support our societies, especially in areas that are struggling for peace and stability. We aimed through our TV show “Iraq Al Aan” to address the Iraqi nation’s concerns, aspirations and hopes that will aid the government and organizations to moving towards a new political era that will build the bright future of Iraq”.

“A year passed on launching “Iraq Al Aan”, we hope that we have succeeded in being a true mirror of what is going on in the Iraqi arena on the political, economical and social activity levels, and we ensure the door is always opened for dialogue between Al Aan TV and its valuable viewers in Iraq” Maya Kerbage added.

Al Iraq Al Aan is a current affairs weekly show, dedicated to tackle the issues of Iraq including interviews with notable politicians, economists and socialists. The show draws attention to Iraqi women; their opinions, hopes, and aspirations whilst also tackling vital subjects like health, education, democracy, terrorism and the involvement and influence of other countries in Iraq’s development in order to display Iraq and the Iraqi people’s bright future. The show is hosted by the Iraqi presenter Rafah Al Saad.

Further and in line with Al Aan’s ongoing support for the qualified talents in the region, to whom the channel strives to deliver empowering and inspiring messages by supporting the passionate and talented Iraqi artists. Al Aan TV announced last year a joint sponsorship with LCI Entertainment of the Iraqi music band UTN1 to produce an album and a video clip as well as a documentary series showcasing their Journey and ambitions. The dream came into reality in December 2009 when the band launched their first album "Titzakareen" in Lebanon.

As per the omnibus survey conducted by IIACSS in November 2009, the results showed that the awareness of Al Aan in Iraq is 33.9% and the viewership is 17.8%. That was a clear evidence of the success in communicating with Iraqi viewers since the past year.
