Iranian parliamentary speaker Ali Larijani announced today that the new US sanctions on Iran are in direct violation of the nuclear deal.

Reporting in persian, tasnim news agency report that Larijani has lodged a complaint to the the UN Security Council over new sanctions imposed by the US on Iran.

The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), more commonly referred to as the Iran Deal, is an international agreement reached between iran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council - China, France, Russia, United Kingdon and the United States. Under the agreement, Iran has agreed to eliminate its stockpile of medium-enriched uranium and cut its stockpile of low-enriched uranium. In exchange, Iran will recieve relief from US, EU and United Nations Security Council sanctions related to nuclear activities.

Despite the Trump government recertifying Iran's compliance with the JCPOA agreement, they imposed new sanctions on Iran as of July of this year, claiming that this was a move to penalize Iran for actions which did not come under the deal.
