At least eight people were killed and 11 wounded Monday in a mysterious blast in northeast Lebanon near the Syrian border, a security source said.
The source told The Daily Star that most of the casualties were militants.
The blast took place in the area of Wadi Hmayed near the restive town of Arsal.
A separate security source said that the army cordoned off the area and is investigating the reason behind the blast.
