50th Year Mini Cooper Festival Drives Interest in Alternative Vacationing
Excitement, adventure, and discovery await UAE holidaymakers to Britain this year who have a passion for touring the country in style, say executives with Britain’s tourism authority.
This year, Gulf-based travellers are invited to take a road trip across Britain for their summer holidays and make the most of the 50th Year Mini Cooper Festival, being held on 12 June 2009 in Stratford. The Mini Cooper is a very British, laidback car and the ideal vehicle from which to enjoy the charm of Britain.
“The Mini Cooper is as British an institution as any, and VisitBritain is encouraging tourists from the Gulf to seize this excellent opportunity to rent a mini cooper and explore the authenticity, sophistication, and rich culture of Britain in a traditional way,” said Carol Maddison, VisitBritain’s Marketing Manager, UAE.
To make life easy for those taking road trips this year, VisitBritain is compiling a guide book with self-drive itineraries. Unlike normal guide books, this one will comprise of a deck of cards where each card consists of a nation/ district and will include a list of attractions and contact details that can be easily searched on the GPS.
After a stop at the Mini Cooper festival, those looking to enjoy the delightful air of the countryside, combined with a touch of the highlife, should definitely include the Cotswolds on their agenda. As well as being one of the most beautiful places of the country, the Cotswolds is also the home of choice for A-list celebrities.
Visitors can also experience the lure of the Brighton coast, nicknamed London-by- Sea. Brighton comprises cool bars, funky clothes shops, boutiques and a wonderful beach. Brighton is the perfect place to unwind after a Mini Cooper road trip.
