BSA announces winners of the online quiz held at Gitex Shopper 2005

Business Software Alliance (BSA), the international organizations dedicated to developing a legal and secure digital society, has announced the winners of the online quiz that was held at Gitex Shopper, the retail section of Gitex Dubai 2005.

BSA’s online quiz at Gitex Shopper 2005 generated a huge response among visitors. There were five winners for the quiz, Teri Varghese from UAE, Tazeen Jamil Sharif from UAE, Fahad Nasser Alrazooqi from UAE, Warith Saiid Al Sulaimani from Oman and Mohammad Zubair Farooq from Qatar, who received attractive software products as prizes.

“The online quiz attracted numerous visitors to our stand at Gitex Shopper. We were successful in conveying the importance of intellectual property rights to visitors through the contest as well as booklets and pamphlets distributed at the venue. We were able to create greater awareness about IPR laws, and the responses indicated that consumers had sufficient knowledge of how use of legal software can boost business and IT industry,” said Jawad Al Redha, Co-Chairman, BSA Middle East.

The BSA pavilion at Gitex Shopper hosted a number of events aimed at raising awareness among visitors from different sections of the society, about the detrimental effects of the use of pirated software. BSA also highlighted the importance of protecting Intellectual Property Rights and adhering to the Copyright laws.
