GETEX Dubai 2010, the Middle East and Asia's leading education, training and professional development event, has announced that over 20,000 learners will be looking to enrol in various undergraduate, postgraduate, vocational and training programs being offered by more than 500 international education providers during the exhibition. At least 2,500 courses will be available during the event's four-day run from April 14 to 17 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, with business management, banking and finance, and information technology shaping up to be the most popular courses based on surveys conducted in the previous GETEX event.

Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mubarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, GETEX Dubai 2010 will likewise build on the growing demand for postgraduate programs in the UAE, a trend that was evident in GETEX 2009 wherein 32 per cent of participating learners were seeking postgraduate courses. Undergraduate studies will remain the main staple of GETEX Dubai 2010 as in the previous edition, which saw undergraduate course seekers accounting for up to 49 per cent of learners.

Anselm Godinho, Managing Director, International Conferences & Exhibitions (IC&E), organisers of the event, said: "It is greatly reassuring for our country's education sector that thousands of learners and hundreds of local and international education providers have already confirmed their participation at GETEX Dubai 2010. We now expect no less than 30,000 visitors and exhibitors, including learners, academics, teachers and representatives of academic institutions and training centres, who will be taking part in the Student Recruitment segment of GETEX Dubai. This is certainly the biggest in terms of quantity and quality of participation for an event that is dedicated to facilitating learning and professional development in the region."

Aside from the Student Recruitment segment, GETEX Dubai 2010 will also focus on other distinct events – the conference-led Global Forum on Technology & Innovation in Teaching and Leading that brings school leaders and educators to discuss ways in which technology can improve the process of learning, teaching and personal development; Education Equipment & Technology; and HRD & Training Forum, which invites an audience of decision makers and managers in HR and training to set a blueprint for addressing new trends, overcoming challenges and taking advantage of opportunities in the Middle East HR landscape. GETEX is the largest education fair in the Middle East and Asia, offering the most comprehensive platform for learners, academics, job seekers and education procurement specialists to interact, network and exchange ideas.

GETEX Dubai 2010 will gather exhibitors from different government ministries and education boards, universities, colleges and academic institutions, professional training centres, international and regional education organisations, and language learning centres. The event will also showcase the latest innovations in the fields of learning aids, labs, vocational and technical supplies, educational tools and scientific equipment, global business schools, distance learning IT and ICT, seminars and presentations technologies, textbooks, software and publications.
