Massive supplies of arms, ammunition and chemical substances have been seized in houses and a farm used by suspects arrested last week in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi interior ministry said Sunday.

Nineteen Russian-made Kalashnikov automatic rifles, grenades, seven ammunition boxes and barrels containing chemical substances intended for making explosives were discovered at the suspects' residences, an interior ministry spokesman said.

Moreover, manuals on how to make explosives, computers, booby-trapped mobile phones and false identity papers were recovered, according to the spokesman, quoted by SPA news agency.

Investigators had also discovered a special area set aside to film testament statements, indicating that the cell had intended to use suicide bombers, the spokesman said.

In addition, the official provided a list of names of eleven suspects, including Saudis and two Moroccans. He said they had been arrested in the framework of the pursuit of wanted persons "plotting terrorist attacks in various parts of the Kingdom." (Albawaba.com)
