du Announces First Week Winners of SMS Ramadan Challenge

 

Top weekly scorer gets grand prize of talk-time worth AED 5,500

 

Fifty-five other winners get free talk-time worth AED 550 each

 

du, the integrated telecom operator in the UAE has announced the names of the winners of the first week of the du SMS Ramadan Challenge. For the week ending 7 September the top scorer won free du talk-time worth AED 5,500 while 55 other winners each received free talk-time worth AED 550.

 

Indian national Suhaib Ahmad khan, the winner of the Ramadan SMS Challenge during first week said: “I feel privileged and pleasantly surprised to be declared the weekly winner. It was great fun participating in the quiz and getting rewarded for my efforts to brush-up my knowledge. I look forward to more such challenges from du.”

 

One of the winners, Inas Lababidi, a Syrian by nationality, said: “I enjoyed participating in this competition as the quiz is an ideal combination of fun and education. It was great fun and I ended up 'SMS'ing' for almost 3-4 hours continuously! It feels great to have won after that and I do hope du will come up with more fun educational activities like this.”

Another winner, Ala Eddin Rasheed Nemer, a Jordanian, said: “The quiz was very unique and helped me a lot to gain knowledge and correct my previous information. I am very happy I won and thank du for coming up with this very different educational quiz.”

This competition has been designed to both test and educate and I congratulate the winners on their knowledge of these areas and Ramadan. The popular du SMS Ramadan Challenge launched recently received more than 1 million SMS hits during the first ten days of Ramadan. Of the fifty-six winners of the first week, fifty-three are du Pay as you Go customers. Forty- nine winners preferred to play the competition in English while the rest chose Arabic.

 

The competition which is designed to test du customers’ knowledge of Ramadan, the Arabic language and UAE culture has weekly and grand prizes to be won, in addition to free credits for every correct answer. For every ten questions played, du customers receive a bonus of 10 fils.
