In the spirit of sharing a unique experience during the Holy Month, du launched its Ramadan Cup Football Tournament for the second consecutive year. The tournament – which will involve a number of participants across du's various departments, including members of the company's senior management – aims to bring together du's employees and encourage closer communication between management and other employees.
"The excitement is already building up and we have a busy schedule planned for our second Ramadan Cup Football Tournament, with a grand finale befitting the excitement. Our objective is to promote a sense of team spirit, as members of the du team across all departments come together for a common cause and play football for the sake of fun and entertainment. And as we recognise that Ramadan is a time for spending quality time with those closest to us, we are inviting the friends and family of the participants to come and join-in as well, and cheer for their favourite team," said Fahad Al Hassawi, Chief Human Resources and Shared Services Officer, du.
A total of 16 teams will compete to win the Ramadan Cup which, last Ramadan, was won by the du Customer Care team. Friday, 20th August witnessed the opening matches where eight teams played to qualify for the second round.
