Dubai Customs launch the Client Accreditation Program

Dubai Customs enters a new vista of excellence by launching today its the Client Accreditation Program which aims at establishing a real partnership between Dubai Customs and  the private sector based on the common responsibility and cooperation  contributing in common goals achievements and  consolidating the economic growth of Dubai. The program was introduced in a luncheon attended by the program partners and the media. The luncheon also witnessed the honoring of the program partners.

The Client Accreditation Program (CAP) is a Dubai Customs initiative designed to provide eligible applicants with a level of service which recognizes their past record and future intention to remain compliant with Customs requirements. By lessening Customs involvement in low risk transactions, it also allows Customs resources to concentrate on transactions of higher, or unknown, risk.
Speaking at the launch of Dubai Customs Client Accreditation Program, Ahmed Butti Ahmed, Director General of Dubai Customs said, “We are keen to organize our customers’ transactions by presenting a wide range of services in conformity with our legal framework to assure a mutual benefit for both parties , helping them to reach their common goals and assuring their voluntary compliance to the Common Customs  Law which is  working on opening channels of cooperation between Customs and UAE business sector ”.
“The program considers all customers whether they were traders, brokers of freighters as key contributors to the international trade supply chain. The program adopts selection criteria based on the best practices adopted by the World Customs Organization’s Administrations,”he added.

 

The World Customs Organization in speech presented on its behalf by International Relations Director, Abbas Makki showed its support to Dubai Customs Client Accreditation Program launch and inviting other Customs administrations to look at Dubai as an example to be emulated.
"Dubai Customs was always in the forefront in launching the initiatives and programs that contribute to its constant thrive towards excellence," it added.
From his part the Client Partnership Program Manager, Ahmad Bin Lahej indicated that the program is an ambitious one focusing on providing Customs facilitations to reward compliant companies and giving incentives to non compliant ones. The Companies were categorized through a system to divided them into categories and provide them with the appropriate facilitations accordingly. The system divided the companies into 3 categories: Golden, Silver and Bronze.
"The companies participating today belong to the Golden category they are also Dubai Customs' best clients and also these companies will have the chance to be upgraded to the Platinum category when it will launched," he added.
"The Program intends to measure the clients satisfaction based on certain channels that allow receiving and analyzing the suggestions in order to continuously improve the quality of services," he stated.
It is worth noting that Dubai Customs is considered among the leading administrations in supporting the development of national women careers giving them the chance to continuously improve and evolve .The Client Accreditation Program under the management of Eman Sweidi is a clear example.
The honored Companies during the launch were Al Tayer Group, Gergash Enterprises, Al-Yousuf Motors, Juma Al-Majid Establishment, Al Naboodah Automobiles and Kodak Company.
