The 2008 Dubai Football Challenge which takes place on January 10 and 12 at the Al Nasr Club in Dubai and is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, has today announced that BT, one of the world’s leading providers of communications solutions and services, has signed up as a key sponsor of the 2008 event.
BT UAE has signed a deal with IEP S&L, The World Series, the organisers of the Dubai Football Challenge, to provide a dedicated, state-of-the-art media centre at the event using the very latest technology for all local, regional and visiting international media.
The BT media centre will enable members of the press covering the tournament to file reports live from the matches directly to their respective news desks, so that readers will enjoy reading all the latest updates and viewing all the best action shots the next morning. As part of the sponsorship package, BT will be providing complete computing, printing and connectivity services, including on-site technical support.

Football fans in the UAE and beyond can expect to be entertained by two days of thrilling live football played at the highest professional levels when the Dubai Football Challenge kicks off on January 10 at Al Nasr Club. The opening day will see German greats playing against Brazilian stars Vasco da Gama at 5pm followed by the UAE national team against the Chinese national team at 7.30pm.
The culmination of the Tournament on January 12 will feature Hamburg taking on China (5pm) and the UAE team taking on Vasco da Gama (7.30pm).
