Egyptian Defense Minister Mohammed Hussein Tantawi met with his Austrian counterpart Herbert Schaibner in Cairo on Tuesday to discuss regional and international developments, according to the Cairo-based Al Ahram Arabic daily.
The meeting, which was also attended by other officials from the two countries, covered the enhancement of military cooperation between the two countries and the exchange of visits and expertise in various fields.
The Egyptian chief of staff, Magdi Hatateh, and a number of senior officers attended the meeting.
The Egyptian minister also briefed his guest on Egypt’s stands regarding the political situation in the region, said the paper – Albawaba.com
