The Egyptian embassy in Moscow has denied a report by the Russian Interfax News Agency that a businessman from the Arab African state was killed in an armed robbery in a suburb of the Russian capital, reported the London-based Arabic daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat.
Sources had told the agency that a number of Egyptians had been attacked by armed robbers who killed one and injured another.
The embassy spokesman declined to comment, but did not deny there had been such an attack, saying the Russian police were investigating the incident.
Interfax had said that three armed masked men broke into the residences of several Egyptian citizens in a Moscow suburb, stealing $5,000 and a number of documents at gunpoint – Albawaba.com
