Egypt has announced plans to introduce the extremely rapid V-Sat internet service by approving an international tender in which private sector firms can become licensed service providers, according to Al Ahram Arabic daily.
This service will reportedly become available to customers in the Egyptian capital next month.
The Egyptian government wants to upgrade the internet infrastructure in the country in order to enhance business activity. The service will be expanded throughout the country before the end of this year.
In addition to introducing this new service, the government will lower the rates for hooking up to the international internet providers by 15 percent as of the first of next month, according to the paper – Albawaba.com
