The Egyptian Foreign Ministry has received a preliminary report from its ambassador to Moscow on the death of a national and the injury of another in an armed robbery in one of the Russian capital’s suburbs, the daily Al Ahram said.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry plenipotentiary, Ahmed Rami, told the paper that the report revealed that four gunmen had shot the Egyptian men in their residence while carrying out a robbery.

The Egyptian embassy said it was closely following the investigation into the incident.

The officials did not say if Russian authorities had arrested suspects in the case.

The Egyptian embassy in Moscow had earlier denied a report by the Russian Interfax News Agency that a businessman was killed in an armed robbery, but did not deny there had been such an attack, saying the Russian police were investigating the incident – Albawaba.com
