Etisalat's customers can make phone calls to check the safety of their loved ones or to contribute to flood relief organisation there for a reduced charge of 99 fils per minute. The heavily discounted rate is available for calling the South Asian subcontinent, including Pakistan during extended off-peak hours from 5pm to 9am, Saturday to Thursday and throughout the day, on Friday.
The 99fils/min rate is valid till 19 September 2010, giving Wasel prepaid customers the chance to call their friends and families with over 60% discount on calls made to Pakistan or other countries in the South Asian subcontinent, during the additional off-peak hours. Wasel prepaid customers can simply send SMS 'e 99' to 1010 in order to subscribe to the service with no monthly charges. All other national and international calls will not be affected and will be charged at the normal rate.
