Five Emiratis were burnt alive in a gruesome traffic accident in Abu Dhabi on Saturday morning. The collision between a Lexus car and a Nissan four-wheeler was reported around 10am in Al Razeen.
The Abu Dhabi Police said speeding and negligence caused the accident that claimed the lives of four members of a family travelling in one of the cars, and that of the motorist of the other.
All five were killed on the spot, said Colonel Hamad Nasser Al Balushi, Director of External Roads Department at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at the General Command of the Abu Dhabi Police.
After the flames were put out by the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence, rescue officials had to use special machines to remove the charred bodies.
