ALBAWABA - U.S. President Donald Trump has just invited Russian Counterpart Vladimir Putin to be part of the "Board of Peace", the committee that will oversee the reconstruction of Gaza, the Kremlin said on Monday.

The Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told the press, "President Putin also received through diplomatic channels an invitation to join this Board of Peace."

On the other hand, a draft charter of the Gaza "Board of Peace," sent to about 60 countries by the Trump administration, reportedly calls for members to pay $1 billion in cash if they want their membership to last more than three years.

Yesterday, Reuters highlighted a condition after receiving a copy of a document, which reads, "each member state shall serve a term of no more than three years from this charter's entry into force, subject to renewal by the chairman."

However, the White House responded to the $1 billion membership fee, stressing that there was no minimum membership fee to join the Gaza "Board of Peace".

"This simply offers permanent membership to partner countries who demonstrate deep commitment to peace, ‍security, and prosperity," the White House posted on X.

Several world leaders were invited to be part of the "Board of Peace," including Argentine President Javier Milei, Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Jordanian King Abdullah II.
