ALBAWABA - Kamala Harris, a Democratic presidential contender challenging Donald Trump, called for the microphones to stay on during the September 10th debate to promote openness.

Harris said on her X account Saturday that Trump caved to his aides, "who prevented him from keeping the microphone on during the debate."

Harris said, "If Trump's team doesn't trust him, how can the American people?" She insisted on leaving the mics on during their first "ABC" discussion. "The presidential debate must be conducted transparently, with open microphones," she said.

Recent days have seen Democratic and Republican sides clash over whether to keep microphones on. Trump's campaign opposes open debate, while Harris's staff supports it.

Harris said that Trump was remarkably controlled in his June debate with current President Joe Biden, a departure from his normal impulsivity. She wants to see whether Trump makes contentious statements during the debate, which might benefit her.

According to political pundits, Harris wants to show her fans that she can meet Trump in person and disclose his actual nature.

However, Trump may try to repeat his performance in the previous debate, when he surpassed Biden, who suffered with hesitancy and bewilderment.

Trump's team claims that the muffled microphone made him look calmer and more collected, which helped him.

Remember that the two parties disagreed on the subject in 2020. The Trump campaign called muting microphones during Biden debates "completely unacceptable for anyone to wield such power." In contrast, Biden's team said that candidate interruptions hampered conversation.
