More than 100 new jobs will be created for Bahrainis when four health centers extend their opening hours, reported the Gulf Daily.
The Muharraq Health Center will soon be open 24 hours a day, said the paper, adding that plans are under way to open the health centers in Sitra, Hamad Town and Karzakan until midnight, instead of closing in the early evening.
“The expansion of services and extension of opening hours will create more than 100 additional jobs at Bahrain’s health centers,” said Fawzi Amin, health ministry chief of medical staff.
These will include about 30 new positions for Bahraini doctors, said the official.
We are currently assessing the manpower situation in health centers and studying ways to make best use of the available resources.
However, we will require more than 100 additional staff, including seven to eight extra doctors for each center, he said, adding that other jobs will be for nurses and support staff.
Amin said there were 622 staff, 143 of them doctors, working in the country’s 19 health centers – Albawaba.com
