abu dhabi, united arab emirates, 29th june 2008: hill international, the global leader in managing construction risk, announced today that it has been awarded two contracts by the republic of latvia’s ministry of culture to provide construction supervision and other consulting services during construction of the new national library of latvia building in riga. the contracts have a total estimated value to hill of approximately lvl4.5 million ($9.9 million).
construction of the new building, designed by renowned latvian-born architect gunnar birkerts, is expected to cost no more than lvl139 million ($305 million) and be completed by 2010. hill has provided design management services in connection with this project since 2005, and planning and design oversight services since 1995.
“hill has been involved in this landmark project from the beginning,” said raouf s. ghali, president of hill’s project management group (international). “we are honored that our role has been continued through construction so that we can see this incredible vision realized,” ghali added.
