ALBAWABA - Hebrew media said that emergency services responded to a report that a Houthi drone hit Ramon Airport in southern Israel, near Eilat.

A video showing smoke rising into the sky was shared on X. According to the Magen David Adom, two people were lightly injured in the drone attack that struck a passenger terminal at Ramon Airport.

The Israeli Airports Authority confirmed that it closed the airspace and suspended flights at Ramon Airport after the attack.

Israel announced opening an official investigation to identify the serious malfunction that prevented the detection and interception of the Yemeni drone.

The Times of Israel revealed that the Israeli army said earlier it had shot down three drones launched by the Yemeni group.

The army said Sunday that the drones from Yemen triggered sirens along the border with Egypt.

Israel mentioned that two drones were destroyed before reaching the country's territory.

On the other hand, two other rockets were launched from central Gaza. Sirens sounded in several areas near the border on Sunday morning, the army further outlined.
