International growth and expansion for Aberdeen firm
Aberdeen firm Electro-Flow Controls (EFC), a leading designer and manufacturer of Instrumentation, Monitoring and Control Systems for the global oil and gas industry, has announced its international expansion and success. The company has secured two seven figure contracts in the US, expanded its Houston office and aims to employ a further 30 personnel in Texas this year
The extended Houston premises include a larger workshop and greater design capacity for hydraulic and instrumentation products. With the two contracts secured for EFC’s integrated drilling rig package and a customised BOP MUX Controls Package, the North American region now accounts for over half the company’s turnover.
John Wheeler, president, Electro-Flow Controls, said: “We are continuing to develop the sound reputation we have for providing tailored drilling, well control and BOPsystem solutions to the global oil and gas industry. EFC has had an excellent year and with our core North American and Gulf of Mexico sector accounting for over 50% of our business, the Houston market is extremely important to us and is supported by our growing Houston, team. However, with our Aberdeen personnel numbers doubling to over 40 and expanded premises, we continue to invest heavily in the North Sea also.”
EFC’s North American success includes a number of significant contract awards, with an increasing requirement for its ‘Integrated Rig Packages’ consisting of drilling instrumentation, Choke & BOP Control, Emergency Safety Systems, Marine and Communication packages and overall project management. A recent contract award for Pride International Inc’s Pride South Atlantic semi was the delivery of a BOP Control Panel and Ballast Control System.
