Iran, Turkey Establish Landmark 'Collect Call' Service

Iran and Turkey established a collect call service between their two countries on Wednesday, reported the official Iranian news agency, IRNA. 

"By establishing collect call service between Iran and Turkey, the charges of the phone calls made in Iran may be paid by the telephone subscriber receiving the call at the destination in Turkey," said a statement by Turkey's Telecommunication Company (TTC).  

The statement said that as per the agreement signed by TTC and Iran's Telecommunication Company (IRITC), Iranian subscribers may contact Turkey by dialing the initial code of (90009011). 

“In case the subscriber being called in Turkey takes on the charges, the relevant charges of the call will be payable in Turkey.”  

According to the statement, the subscribers making the call in Iran will not be charged at all with the relevant expenses of the call by IRITC – Albawaba.com
