A suicide attack on the Kurdish political party's offices and a string of other attacks has killed 33 people in Iraq on Wednesday, AP reported.
The death toll for one day is the highest in nearly two months, as the security situation in the country continues to deteriorate.
Nineteen people were killed in the bombing of the Kurdistan Democratic Party's (KDP) building, while a nearby bomb killed two more. Wednesday's attack came before Iraq's central government and the Kurdish authorities' planned talks over the disputed territory.
Elsewhere,in the town of Tuz Khurmatu, 170km north of Baghdad, five more people were killed and 36 others wounded in a second attack outside the offices of another political party, AP reported.
Middle East commentators have speculated that the increasing attacks are the result of a growing Sunni insurgency. The use of car bombs and coordinated attacks are usually associated with Sunni attacks.
Iraq has recently faced a wave of protests from Sunnis who claim that the Shia-led government is implimenting anti-terror laws in order to unfairly target them.
