A series of bombs, planted in both cars and along the side of the road, rocked the Shia districts of Iraq's capital on Tuesday, killing at least 22 people, Reuters reported.
According to Iraqi police and hospital workers, speaking to the news agency, the death toll is currently at 22 but could rise.
Iraq has been hit by a wave of sectarian violence in recent months following the pullout of American troops. The country's Sunni minority claim they are being unfairly targeted by the Shia-led government's new anti-terror legislation.
Many commentators blame Iraqi Sunnis for the latest attacks in the capital, including those targeting government ministries last week.
