ALBAWABA - In a strategic move, Israel has deployed a cutting-edge radar-equipped blimp in its northern region aimed at enhancing missile and aerial vehicle detection capabilities. The activation of the "Sky Dew" missile and aircraft detection system comes after a 1.5-year hiatus, as reported by Haaretz.

Residents residing in northern Israel and southern Lebanon have confirmed the presence of the missile-detection blimp, signaling a renewed focus on security measures. However, the deployment faces operational challenges, and the system is not yet fully functional, according to reports.

Israel's state television channel KAN shared that the system was put into action today following the arrival of components ordered from the United States. The decision to reactivate this defense system coincides with heightened tensions, notably the recent assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Deputy Chief Saleh al-Aruri and six others in Beirut on January 2.

In response to the assassination, Hezbollah claimed to have launched over 60 rockets at an Israeli military base near the border, underscoring the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah since October 8. The clashes have resulted in significant casualties, with 152 Hezbollah members, 28 Lebanese civilians, 5 Israeli civilians, and 9 Israeli soldiers losing their lives.
