ALBAWABA - Later on Monday night, the Israeli Army stormed the West Bank city of Tulkarm, sparking confrontations between Palestinians and Israeli troops, leading to the killing of three young men.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the victims as three young men, ages 22-24, who were taken to the Government Thabet Thabet Hospital in the city of Tulkarem in the northern West Bank.

The Israeli army and the Shin Bet security service said in a joint statement that their forces were on a mission to arrest a wanted Palestinian when clashes broke out, leading to the death of the three Palestinians.

Palestine TV reported that packs of Israeli troops raided Tulkarm and besieged a home in its Iktaba neighborhood, prompting heavy clashes between Palestinian fighters and Israeli soldiers.

The report added that the Israeli army left the three Palestinians bleeding until it withdrew from the city, after which an ambulance took them to the hospital.

Tension across the West Bank

On Sunday, Israeli troops stormed the West Bank camp of Jenin, causing mass destruction across the city. Later on, 6 six Palestinians were killed after an Israeli airstrike targeted a civilian gathering area in the Jenin Governorate.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health released a statement confirming the tragic occurrence. "Six Palestinians were martyred when the Israeli occupation bombed a gathering of citizens in Jenin".

The storming of Jenin followed heavy confrontations between Palestinians and Israeli forces in the town of Zeita, located north of Tulkarm in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.  Four Palestinians were injured by live ammunition and shrapnel later on Saturday.
