The tents set up by Palestinians to protest the latest round of Jewish settlements in the West Bank were removed by Israeli forces on Thursday, AFP reported.
After evicting activists from the 'Bab al Shams' protest village, police dismantled the tents used to occupy the disputed land.
Israeli police spokesperson, Micky Rosenfield, confirmed to Reuters that the area was cleared of the tents, adding that "there were no disturbances."
Palestinian demonstrators erected the tents on Friday to protest the decision by Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to build setttlements on the area known as "E1". Activists claim that Jewish builds would separate East Jerusalem from the rest of the West Bank, effectively denying Palestinians the possibility of a contiguous state.
Israeli police forcibly evicted the protestors on Sunday, declaring the area a "closed military zone" and shutting down access roads to the land.
Most countries internationally consider all Jewish settlements in the West Bank to be illegal.
