Israeli Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer on Tuesday cancelled his planned trip to the US the next day due to a “deteriorating security situation,” reported Israel Radio.
Ben-Eliezer was slated to meet with US President George W. Bush, Secretary of State Colin Powell, National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, and a host of other administration officials on his week-long trip, said the radio, cited by the Jerusalem Post newspaper.
Ben-Eliezer was also set to meet with UN General Secretary Kofi Annan during the visit – Albawaba.com
