Former Secretary General of the United Nations Kofi Annan covered a wide of subjects from peace initiatives in the Middle East to the workings of the UN in a keynote address to the Leaders in Dubai Business Forum 2007 on Monday.
Mr Annan's remarks included his views on the need to resolve the Israeli/Palestinian conflict because it is a driver for conflict in the region; the success of the UN Global Compact; and how diplomacy has not been exhausted in Iran
Following Mr Annan's remarks, Becky Anderson of CNN International joined him on stage to moderate a lively Q&A session.
Event director Alan Kelly said Mr Annan’s session closed the two days of top level discussions on a high note.
