Yahia Ben Mabrouk, nicknamed "L'Apprenti", a talented Algerian comedian-actor died Saturday at Mohamed Lamine Debaghine hospital in Bab El Oued (Algiers), at the age of 76, after a long disease, APS reported.
The Algerian news agency described Ben Mabrouk's death as a "big loss for the Algerian cinema."
In 1981, "L'Apprenti" quitted the world of cinema. After a six-year absence, he returned with "Le Clandestin" movie (The Stowaway Taxi) of Benamar Bakhti, as he played the role of a father in charge of a large family. To manage his living and satisfy his children' needs, he worked as an illegal taxi driver, facing funny situations and adventures along his trip.
