The Mauritanian President, Mawiah Walid al-Taya, on Monday received in Nouakchott, the investigation committee, ordered to be set up by Libyan Leader Muammar al Kadhafi, chairman of the Arab Maghreb Union, in a fact finding mission regarding events related to a plot aimed at overthrowing the Mauritanian regime. Al-Taya hinted in the past that Libya stood behind the attempt.
The committee includes the Secretary General of the Arab Maghreb Union, Al-Habib Abuala'ras, foreign minister of Morocco, Mohammed Ben Issa, and Algerian Foreign Minister, Abdulaziz Bilkhadam.
