Networking component of Young Leaders Program co-organised with Boeing Leadership Centre

Mohammed Bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development (MBRPLD), an innovative leadership program designed to develop national leaders capable of promoting the sustainable development of the UAE, has announced that it has recently launched the Blue Ocean Forum; a quarterly networking event that encourages participants to discuss challenges and opportunities faced by private and public sectors from a global point of view.

The Forum, co-organised with the Boeing Leadership Centre, one of the well-known international leadership centres is a central component of the Young Leaders Program, which is a level of MBRPLD that aims to qualify young leaders through training programs and workshops, in line with the strategic plans and aspirations of Dubai.

Previously organised with the name ‘Young Leaders Networking Event’, the Blue Ocean Forum will be held up to four times per year and is designed to develop and enhance objective, constructive and quality contact networks that strengthen the young leaders’ knowledge, experience and skills in the key areas of leadership and strategy; leadership policy; change leadership and management; and leadership and effective communication.

Speaking at the event, Julie Acosta, Vice President, Boeing Leadership Centre, said: “We are honoured to continue our association with MBRPLD, I haven’t come across a more comprehensive leadership development program, and the Young Leaders Program, as we recognise that these initiatives are important career development platforms and play a pivotal role in building the next generation of leaders.”
The two-year Young Leaders Program consists of seven program components, including Executive Programs; Work Projects; Workshops; Personal Development Plan; Personal Coaching; Virtual Learning Resource Centres; and the Blue Ocean Forum.  The objectives of the program are to empower participants to develop key leadership skills capabilities; educate participants on the motives for executive processes at institutions; streamline, empower and brighten basic personal skills of young leaders; and develop and support personal development plans.

Junior Emirati executives in the 28 – 34 age bracket are eligible to join the Program, based on strict qualification requirements including a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university, proven academic excellence, strong employment potential, working knowledge in both Arabic and English, and a genuine dedication and commitment to the region's human and socio-economic progress.

Adel Al Shared, Manager of MBRPLD, added: “Mohammed Bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development has been mandated to help promote the advancement of the UAE’s national human capital, which is undoubtedly the most important component in securing the country’s long-term sustainability.  The new name of the Blue Ocean Forum reflects our renewed commitment to aligning the program with the demands of the UAE’s rapidly progressing society, and we commend the participants of today’s Forum for their contributions. The components of MBRPLD’s programs, such as the Blue Ocean Forum, will provide continuity to the UAE’s strategic initiatives and help to ensure the country’s socio-economic advancement in the future.”

The Young Leaders Program is one of four MBRPDL levels that seek to identify the country’s most promising young nationals and prepare them to successfully manage the future strategic initiatives of the local and federal governments.

The program is in line with the vision and directions of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; the initiator of the MBRPLD initiative who has underscored the critical importance of a highly competent national professional workforce in the country's global sustainability.
